Getting started: Verizon Motorola Droid

So, you are interested in purchasing the Droid by Motorola, OR you just want to see if your iphone really compares to the Droid. Well, I am going to help you out by sharing with you my own personal experience with my droid :).
I purchased my droid right after thanksgiving of 2009. I still have it and here is my Humble Opinion:
1) The Droid is a somewhat industrious phone. Let's be honest, the thing is massive when covered by a hard case, however if you are brave enough to let your Droid go naked, the thing is almost half the size of the iphone. Imagine if the physical keyboard came off. It would be approx. half the size of the iphone (3g). (You could do some damage if you decided to chuck this phone at a friend (or foe). )-I am not condoning this in any way! hahah please do not try this at home!
2) The phone has a masculine appearance, but I am a female and I still love it. It's rectangular shape gives it that cool, alien device look the verizon ads push through your tv sets every 5 minutes!
3) The physical keyboard AND the touchscreen keyboard are aspects it will take a while to get used to. I really did NOT like the touchscreen keyboard, but after a while that has become easier, and I have fallen in love with the physical keyboard.
4) I have also began a love affair with downloading .apk files onto my droid. If I for some reason hate everything about my phone, I can literally change the appearance of it entirely. I have a whole new home screen with 5 not 3 screens, I also have the swype keyboard, the bigbuttons keyboard, and plenty others that I switch through depending on my mood. So even though I do like the iphone keyboard better than the droid's, that is a problem easily fixed through 2 minutes of my time downloading a new keyboard, even BETTER than the iphone's. Incredible right? Well let's not go there, since verizon did just release the new INCREDIBLE!
5) The voice quality is terrific, i have not once had a problem with the service or the voice quality with my droid. Now, my roommates have iphones and I can attest to the fact that their service goes in and out. ALL THE TIME. Honestly, its a phone...first and foremost, and if you cant make a measly phone call, you might want to try a different service...or different phone.. So point goes to the home team on this one :Droid.
6) The video is of very high quality, and on youtube, if u switch the quality to high quality, it looks better on your phone than it does on your personal computer (also a plus)!
-Unfortunately: The camera sucks. Period. It takes horrible pictures indoors.
of course this is easily corrected by downloading yet another app from the market. You can choose from many of the camera effects apps on the market, to improve and edit the photos you take on the droid.
The browser is quick, and if you connect to a wireless network it is usually even faster!
All in all, I have very few issues with the droid. Go out and see for yourself. I promise you will not be disappointed.
And that's my humble opinion :)

User beware: Once you go smart phone, you never go back!
